DOWNLOAD SUNSPOT LOOPS 29.09.2011
This episode is very electronic production heavy. It wasn’t intentionally intended to be this way, but it is how it shaped up. The HTRK track is a Suicide cover too, btw. Enjoy!

Nothing Under The Sun is a radio show / podcast / blog / outlet focusing on what’s new in the world of musical sound compositions. It is recorded and airs at WESU, Middletown (the community radio station at Wesleyan University) online and on 88.1FM every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 2-3AM.
Rundown:
Up first is The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble. Tracks played on episode one are from the latest EP released by Choice Cuts entitled Heritage (CCEP001). “Rainbows,” is an upbeat hip-hop flavored number while “Moments,” is a smooth, mellowed out jam.
Pieces of this interview could be heard in the mix as well:
Next up, the El Michels Affair with “Protect Ya Neck,” and “Shimmy Shimmy Ya,” from Enter The 37th Chamber (yes, mostly instrumental interpretations of Wu-Tang Clan songs) put out by Fat Beats (FB5127).
The music of J.G. Thirwell used in The Venture Bros. (Adult Swim) was released on LP by Williams Street. The two tracks featured here are, “Brock Graveside,” and “Tuff.”
The interview used in this program can be seen and heard in full here:
A quick break into the future with Mala:
Delving deeper into the electronic world, Balam Acab from his See Birds 12” on Tri Angle Records (Tri Angle 01) we hear, “Dream Out,” and “See Birds (Sun).”
Onto the 7” release “Frost & Legend,” by Salem put out by Audraglint (AG120). Apparently, this thing they call witch house is also imminently in danger of dying.
Episode 1 ends with a focus on the Shangaan Electro: New Wave Dance Music From South Africa compilation released by Honest Jon’s Records (HJR52). From this, first heard is the Tshetsha Boys with “Nwampundla - Pfundla’s Daughter,” and then Zinja Hlungwani (who likes to go by Dog and is seen in the interview below) with “N’wagezani My Love - Gezani’s Daughter, My Love.”
The full interview with Dog can be seen here:
